This collection of poems was written since Donald Trump was elected president. I wrote every week a few poems at a time to reflect what was happening to me and the people around me in this year: a year consisting of episodes of fear, intense sadness and occasionally periods of great relief. During this year I experienced multiple losses that had to be met and accepted. It has been a trying time for me.
As I complied this volume I was able to view the year as a mix of experiences, some awful and others wonderful. Recording my thoughts in this way helped me see, explore and now share my understanding of this difficult year. I have placed the poems in the order that they flowed out of my fingers.
I mostly write using a minimalist canvas hoping to capture something for myself. I pass these words on hoping they will capture something for you.
Available this week from Amazon, CreateSpace.com and other book sellers.

Off the leash
Each morning my heel pain accompanies me on my limp to the bathroom. Looking in the mirror the familiar creases seem to deepen. I dose myself with Aloe gel to soothe my outsides as I feel the twist of my second toe moving in my shoe nurtured by the soft of a new sock.
Next our walk a real good morning kiss replaces the hurried peck exchanged in the hall. The dogs pulling this way and that hoping to see a cat still sleeping. . The houses become sparse giving way to open space We enter the field welcomed finally off the leash the dogs at full dash. A smile comes realizing my love and I off the leash, too!
